Insurance

At the time of your office visit, we will ask you for information regarding your insurance coverage.  If you expect to use your insurance at the visit you will need to have your insurance card with you and we will take a copy of it. Most insurance policies do not pay for hearing aids or hearing aid related services but many pay for hearing testing.  The following is a list of insurance companies with whom we are contracted:
  • Medicare
  • Blue Shield
  • HealthNet
  • Pacificare
  • United Healthcare
Coverage for hearing testing and hearing aids depends upon your individual insurance plan.  We may be participating providers but that does not mean that payment is guaranteed.  If we are not participating providers, we are happy to bill your insurance and balance bill you the portion that is not covered.  If you have questions about what your insurance will cover, please call your insurance company before your visit.  You may use our tax ID number, 26-0283358 to find out if we are participating providers for your plan.

In order for Medicare to cover audiological testing, you must be referred by a physician and we must have the written referral on file.   You can ask your physician to fax the referral to us at 925-676-8420.  We cannot ask for the referral for you, the request must come from you.  Medicare and Medicare supplemental plans do not pay for hearing aids.
